Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen. Those are some of the cities in China that University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler visited during his tenure. China is the top location for international students at the U, with more than 2,500 Chinese students currently on campus. The number of Chinese alumni now tops 10,000. Kaler regularly traveled to China on behalf of the Driven campaign, meeting with alumni and friends, cultivating academic partnerships, and talking to donors and potential donors about how philanthropy helps the U shape the world.
