Doc dog

M Health Fairview

Sometimes, the best caregiver has four paws and a wet nose. Rocket, a 2-year-old golden retriever, now spends 40 hours a week dispensing cuddles and kisses to kids at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.

A $250,000 gift from KLN Family Brands brought Rocket and the NutriSource Facility Dog Program to the hospital. He has been offering comfort to children and family members since November.

“Animals can really impact people on a level that goes beyond the human connection,” says Rocket’s handler, Anna Dressel. “They’re able to meet an emotional need that’s really unique.”
