Sara Henry, ’19 B.S., loves the outdoors—hiking, camping, being in nature. Serving as a Nature of Life peer mentor at the U’s Itasca Biological Station and Laboratories was a perfect way to spend a summer.

Henry says receiving the Biological Sciences Alumni and Friends Scholarship and the Darby and Geri Nelson Itasca Summer Scholarship made the experience possible last year. “I wouldn’t have been able to afford to take summer classes and live at Itasca without the scholarships,” she says.

Henry was back at Itasca this summer doing research on flying squirrel nesting patterns.
