Lexie Ogdahl used to “sit back and play it safe.” But studying in New Zealand challenged the University of Minnesota Crookston junior to do things that scared her—like bungee jumping. “I was really afraid of heights, but how could I not take a chance?” 

That jump led the animal science major to re-evaluate. “I believe studying abroad not only allowed me to face my fears, but also made me see the world in a whole new way,” says the Albert Kopecky Family Scholarship recipient. “I now say ‘yes’ to things I would have easily said ‘no’ to before.”
