Making of a maker
Adrian Houston, ’20, is a natural at designing and building things.
In his high school science, math, and engineering program, he was tasked with identifying a problem (people talking in movie theaters) and finding a solution (prototyping a headset that streamed audio).
As a 3M Diversity Scholar, he brought his problem-solving abilities tothe Society of Women Engineers’ Team Tech (open to all students) at the U, where he helped create a rapid heating chamber system for 3M.
“It’s been a great learning experience because you’re part of a development team,” he says. “And it’s my way of doing something for 3M.”
