New name for J school
On July 1, the University of Minnesota School of Journalism and Mass Communication was renamed the Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication, honoring the Hubbard family, owners of Hubbard Broadcasting. The Hubbards have been generous supporters of the U over the years and have a long-standing relationship with the school. “The Hubbard family is widely known for pioneering breakthroughs in journalism,” says U of M President Eric Kaler. “It’s fitting that our outstanding School of Journalism and Mass Communications should now carry this respected name.”
