Sun stoked
The University of Minnesota Solar Vehicle Project was founded by a group of undergraduate students in 1990. They competed in their first race with their first car, Aurora I, three years later.
The team has built 13 solar vehicles since the beginning and is one of the most decorated in the United States. Their success wouldn’t have happened without generous support from corporate sponsors and individual donors.
The team has started work on the next model, Freya I, in a new workshop that was made possible with a gift from Clifford I. Anderson honoring Professor Emeritus Patrick J. Starr.
