Happy camper
Attending and working as a counselor at Camp Sioux for children with diabetes shaped Madison Crane’s career plans.
Crane, ’19, who has type 1 diabetes, is majoring in business at the University of Minnesota Crookston. She eventually hopes to work for the American Diabetes Association and share the stories of what camp can do for kids.
“I have had the incredible opportunity to watch 8- and 9-year-olds come to camp shy and reserved and leave independent and thriving,” says Crane, who received the Herbert and Anna Johnston Scholarship and the Crookston Kiwanis Pioneer 100’s Scholarship. “It is one of the greatest experiences anyone can have.”
